Lee McCroskey - The Law of Addition

The Law of Addition.     Thanks for joining me to explore Maxwell's 5th law--the Law of Addition. Remember we add value to others when our mentality and actions focus on SERVING. So, to that end, here are a few questions for discussion and reflection:

 Ask yourself the following questions:

1. How and when are you a servant leader?

2. When do you get impatient and or resentful?

3. Are there tasks beneath your dignity/position?

4. What do the people closest to you value?

5. Are you making things better for the people around you?

6. Right now is your attitude adding to them or subtracting from them?

Talk to you next week! Do well, and keep up the great work.

Top producers are not always motivated, but they find ways to motivate themselves.

Questions to ask yourself:

-Are you a professional or an amateur ?
-Whom are you working for?
-What standard do you hold yourself to?
- Are you a leader?

Leaders don't have excuses.

Everyone:

Hopefully, this broadcast makes you think about your priorities--both at work and at home. Remember not to confuse activity with results. And ask yourself: "What's the most important thing I need to do right now?" (Then do it.)   Here are a few questions for discussion.

Are you focused on the few things that bring the highest reward? Do you follow the 80/20 Rule?

How do you set priorities? When? How much time do you devote to planning each day/week?

What are priorities I need to start doing?

What are activities I need to stop doing?

-Change-

Any growth has come because of change.
The only constant is change. You either resist it or you find opportunity in change.
For the companyoffice to change effectively, the cultural backbone has to be bigger than the people.

-20% of people will look for oppportunity in change
-60% of people don't care
-20% of people will fight the change
When you fight the change you die.

Top producers have a cultural buy-in bigger than the change.

Lee McCroskey - The Law of Momentum: the Big Mo

So thanks for tuning in to our broadcast on the importance of momentum, according to Maxwell.

And here are some questions to discuss with your team (or think about) regarding the topic of momentum:
How is my momentum right now? Increasing or decreasing? Think of a time you had momentum. Write it down. Now think: How did you do it?  Think of a time you lost it. How did it happen? How do you build momentum? How can we maintain the momentum we have?  How can you use the big mo to improve and hit your goals?  What can you do to conserve energy and still have momentum working for you?
Work hard. Forward movement. Positive momentum.

Here are some questions to discuss with your team:
do people buy in to me and what I stand for? do people respect me and my reputation? What do I need to do to be more effective in the area of "buy-in"? How do I know when people/clients buy in?

Maxwell's Law of the Picture

Essentially, Maxwell states that leadership is highly visual. People do what people see.

Here are the suggested assignments you might take on to improve your example:    1) Ask a trusted team member to watch you for at least a week to compare what you say with what you do. Ask them to record any inconsistencies. When you meet, you can discuss, but do not defend yourself! 2) What are 3 things you wish your team did better than they currently do now? Make a list. Now grade your performance in each area. If your scores are low, you need to change your behavior; if they're high, then you need to make your example more visible!
